  1. 4 Steps to a Great Relationship With Your Agent

  2. For most actors, signing with an agent or a manager is a big step toward having a professional career in the business. Creating a good relationship with your reps, however, is just as important as getting repped in the first place. Here are 4 steps to establishing a great rapport with your agent or manager and keeping your career with them on track. 1. Give your agent only 20-25 headshots if they ask for hard copies. Even though a fair amount of submissions are done electronically these days, many times, your agent will need copies of your headshot in stock to submit you for roles that are currently casting. When you get copies made, give your reps only about 20 to 25. This way, if it takes them 2 months to ask for more photos, you know they are submitting only 25 photos every 2 months.

  3. 2. If you call their office, wait till later around 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Most agents aren’t much for chit chat on the phone with their clients, and if they are, you should be wondering why they have so much time on their hands when you aren’t getting calls. In the mornings and even up to after lunchtime, agents spend their time reviewing the daily castings calls and submitting clients like you for auditions. It tends to be a hectic time at their office, so DO NOT call before 2:00 in the afternoon for sure. The best time to call is between 5 and 7 p.m. because by that time their assistant has probably gone home and you can likely catch the agent directly.

  4. 4. Be charming. A large part of success in this business is a result of people simply liking you. When all else is equal between two actors up for a role, the producer is going to go with someone they like. Being a pleasant, light-hearted, friendly person is a good thing and will help you win out over another actor who is coming across as sulking, suffering, down-trodden and beat-up. Be charming — or friendly, if you prefer to call it that — when you’re working with your agent and other people in the business. Leave any drama from acting class, work, or relationships in the trunk of your car and get it out later if you want it. Summary When building your relationship with your agent, believe in yourself as a person. Be pleasant, friendly, or charming even, and relate to your agent on equal footing. As long as you treat them with respect and a bit of charm and make sure they relate to you as a professional, you’ll be well on your way to a solid relationship with them. http://wgarcountryjam.com/make-him-worship-you-review/
