Proposed Revision to PTCS Ducts Inside Specifications

This document outlines proposed revisions to the PTCS Ducts Inside Specifications, highlighting the consideration of allowing some ducts to be positioned outside. The Regional Technical Forum (RTF) originally adopted these specifications on August 5, 2008, amidst concerns over the stringent requirement that all ducts be located indoors. The revisions were prompted by feedback indicating that this requirement may be too onerous. A subcommittee meeting held on January 29, 2009, brought together key stakeholders to discuss these proposals and examine whether in-progress inspections suffice or if further testing is needed.
