Overview of Changes • PTCS Provider requirements/duties enumerated (major addition) • Technician reporting requirements more completely described • Duct location designation made more generic • Controls section slightly expanded and clarified • Refrig. charge section expanded and clarified • Wording changes added throughout to distinguish between new installs and service

  3. PTCS Provider Reqs • Expanded Section 1 • Text addresses PTCS Provider role • Training on specs • Data mgmnt • Tech registry • Data review • Field QA

  4. Duct Language Changes • Section 3.2 • Unconditioned/cond- itioned space language taken out (left up to specific programs to define) • New section 8.2.3 says new duct systems should meet PTCS tightness requirements

Controls Changes/Addition • Was Section 4.3/4.4; now Section 5 • Aux heat staging/sequencing language removed • Added sentence to clearly specify no aux heat allowed in Stage 1 call • Single capacity compressor: added explicit sentence saying discharge air sensor control not allowed • Multi-stage compressor: added option to allow discharge air sensor staging temperature warmer than 85° F (current req) as long as ODT is installed

  6. Refrigerant Checks (formerly Section 5.4, now Section 7) • Complying methods now more specific: • Operating pressures (year-round) • Capacity check (ditto) • Superheat/subcooling (summer) • Documentation • CheckMe • ACRx • New HP start up form • “other approved method”

  7. Summary • Recommend acceptance of revised/amended HP specs • Need to come up with language for dual-fuel “hybrid” systems • Need to revise/amend ground/water-source HP specs
