Get Psyched About Recycling You can help the environment by following these tips on recycling: • You can only recycle certain things. You might think paper is trash, but it is not. It is recyclable. • Recycling is very easy. All you have to do is learn what is and is not recyclable!
Recyclable Remove paper, and newspaper plastics 1,2,3,4,5, and 7, but not 6 Kleenex box, but remove attached plastic You can recycle this stuff! What else in your classroom is recyclable? Turn and talk.
Not Recyclable foam/polystyrene (plastic 6) kleenex plastic ! ! (Make sure your teacher throws lamination in the trash. ;) Food Lamination
Tips On Recycling • Try not to use plastic bags, it’s better for the environment. Use paper bags because they decompose faster,meaning they disappear faster. Cloth bags can be used and cleaned. • Pay attention to what you throw in the recycling bin and trash bins. • Don’t just go to the nearest bin. Look for the recycling sign.

What is Composting? • Composting is nature’s way of recycling! • Composting is when decomposers turn anything that was once alive (food scraps, soiled paper like napkins, fur, etc.) into very nutritious soil.
Composting • When we compost we are using the nutrients in our leftover food to help plants grow. • If food goes to the landfill it produces gases that warm the earth.
What can I compost? Tray will be composted, needs to go in tray stacker!
