The Functions of the Skeleton The three functions of the skeleton are: • Support- Bones give us shape • Protection - for vital organs to be stored safely inside • Movement

They don’t move very easily. The particles can move around slightly so LIQUIDS can flow. • Properties of Liquids • Particles further apart • Takes shape of container • Can be slightly compressed • Can flow • Separating solids & Liquids • Filtering – to separate an insoluble solid from liquid • Explain what happens when solids mix with liquids: • Some solids dissolve in the liquids eg salt, sugar • Insoluble solids sink to the bottom
