  3. Reading Seed Labels • Varietiesin the package • Is this what you need? • Do the varieties complement each other?

  4. Reading Seed Labels • How much of each variety is in there? • Is there too much or too little of one grass?

  5. Reading Seed Labels • Will the majority of your grass seed germinate? • This tells you what seed is still alive in your package. • The higher the better.

  6. Reading Seed Labels • Shows where the variety was grown. • Does this place have similar climate to KY?

  7. Reading Seed Labels • Literally tells you the amount of weed seed in your mix • The lower the better (0.5% is acceptable limit) • Higher percentage here means lower quality seed

  8. Reading Seed Labels • Stuff in your mix that won’t grow • The lower the better

  9. Reading Seed Labels • These are weeds that cause a lot of trouble in the state sold. • You want this to say “None” • If noxious weeds are present, the specific weed(s) will be listed.
