Eri kielimuotojen valinta • Helsingin slangi  helsinkiläinen • Pohjois-Pohjanmaan murre Helsingissä  sydämessäni olen juurtunut Pohjois-Pohjanmaalle • Jokainen kohosteinen piirre puheessa – sana, sanan muoto tai lausumisen tapa – on identiteetin ilmaus. • valitaan sanoja ja sanomisen tyylejä

  3. Ihmisestä välittyvä kuva • ”Eihän sitä oikhen tule toihmeen ja ossaatehämithään jos ei tunne kethään.” • ”Mä en niinkutut toimeen tai niinku osaa tehämitääj jos mä en tunne ketää.” • Joku kielen piirre heijastaa sukupuolta, joku kaupunkilaisuutta tai maalaisuutta ja koulutuksen määrää.
