  1. BelleⅡSVD assembly test 2011/10/27 HimoriShoki Onuki Yoshiyuki, Markus Friedl, Christian Imler

  2. Outline • Motivation • Assembly test with real components • Summary • Problems & improvements • Plan

  3. Motivation The verification of new assembly method which is extendable for full ladder assembly. We succeeded assembly test with dummy modules. In the next step, we want to check the procedure with real components. And we also want to do a read out test.

  4. Assembly test with real components 1.Alignment of a DSSD on an Alignment jig by a stopper. (we did not use Micro scope jig & XYZθ-stage jig) DSSD Stopper Alignment jig 2.We turn on vacuum chucking, and Remove the stopper.

  5. Assembly test with real components 3.Alignment PAs on the DSSD by pins. PAs pin 4.Put the PA jigs on the Alignment jig. And put away pins.

  6. Assembly test with real components 5.Turn on vacuum chucking of PA jigs & put away PA jigs with PAs. And glue bonds by using masks. PAs on PA jigs

  7. Assembly test with real components 6.Put PAs on the DSSD by using PA jigs. ↑checking gluing 7.Put away PA jigs.

  8. Assembly test with real components 8.We did wire bonding (DSSD & PAs). Looking from this direction Bonding machine Wire bonding

  9. Assembly test with real components 9.Reverse the Alignment jig with components (DSSD&PAs) & put them on an Assembly bench (on a Rib jig). Alignment jig components Assembly bench Rib jig Side view Top view

  10. Assembly test with real components 10. Turn on vacuum chucking of the Assembly bench, and remove the alignment jig. We could put the components on the Assembly bench.

  11. Assembly test with real components 11. Alignment of Airex on the Alignment jig by a stopper. Airex Stopper

  12. Assembly test with real components 12. Put away the stopper. And glue bonds on the Airex. 6 bond lines

  13. Assembly test with real components 13.Reverse the Alignment jig with Airex, and put them on theAssembly bench (on the Rib jig).

  14. Assembly test with real components 14. We could put the Airexon components(DSSD & PAs). Also set the support for Origami PCB.

  15. Assembly test with real components 15.Prepare for putting the Origami PCB on the Airex. Align the Origami PCB on an Origami jig. And glue bond. 8 glue lines Origami PCB Origami jig

  16. Assembly test with real components 16.Reverse the Origami jig with Origami PCB & put them on theAssembly bench (on the Rib jig).

  17. Assembly test with real components 17.We could make a component of DSSD & PAs & Airex& Origami PCB.

  18. Assembly test with real components 18.We did wire bonding (DSSD n-side & Origami PCB)

  19. Assembly test with real components 19.Glue bonds on the PAs by using masks.

  20. Assembly test with real components 20.Attaching the PAs to the Origami PCB by using jigs. finish

  21. Assembly test with real components 21.Wire bonding of the PAs & the Origami PCB.

  22. Assembly test with real components 22.Prepare for ribs. Rib jig Stands Ribs

  23. Assembly test with real components 23.Glue bonds to ribs. And attach ribs to components. We did this process by put components (on theAssemblybench) on the Rib jig.

  24. Assembly test with real components 24.Put out an attachment with components from the Rib jig.

  25. Assembly test with real components 25.Attach supports. Complete!!

  26. Problems and improvements • We need more supports of Origami PCB. • We must change linear bushes of Assembly bench, because the pin for linear bush can interfere with wire bonder header. We should replace for fixed pin for insertablepin. • Ditches of Origami jig should be widen. And we should change a material like Teflon. And some through holes of Origami PCB locate the vacuum chucking hole on the Origami jig. This makes vacuum leak. • We should prepare for a stand for vending jig. • This time , we also need support structure for Origami PCB. • When we attach CO2 cooling pipe, we need an electrical insulator.

  27. Summary • We could assemble an Origami module with real components. • Assembly procedure works well. This procedure can be extended to the full ladder assembly. • When we glue bonds, we used masks, which was effective. • We got problems. We must solve them.

  28. Plan • Now we are preparing a read out test of Origami module with APV DAQ system. We plan a read out test using some radiation sources. Already, we could confirm that all APVs are working. Next, we will check noises.
