  2. S I R M A G A Z I N E : • Sir Magazine is a student-run men’s interest publication at Iowa State University. • Founded in 2011 with first publication in spring 2012 • Published each semester.

A N A L Y S I S P A P E R : “Boundary Waters Canoe Area” • The article “Boundary Waters Canoe Area” written by Michael Gray. • The article is a personal experience about a group of close friends and their adventure to northern Minnesota. • The purpose of the article is to tell a story about close friends having a great time, but also to inspire its readers to have their own adventures.

A N A L Y S I S P A P E R : “Boundary Waters Canoe Area” • The structure of the article is set up with many large sized images of scenery, with a mixture of paragraph form, and small blurbs that help highlight specific parts of the article. • The author specifically wanted to draw the attention of the articles readers in with the large, clear images. • Special attention was paid in the creation of this article to create an open atmosphere without clutter.

  5. P R O F I L E P A P E R : “Boundary Waters Canoe Area” • I chose to interview Mike Gray, but due to logistical issues we could not have an in-person interview. However, Mike was still more than willing to have an email interview. • Mike Gray is a senior architectural student at Iowa State University and is currently studying abroad in Italy. • I wrote my profile over the article and its author. Describing the journey the author took, and the message he wanted to leave for others. “I tried to choose material that would encourage planning, traveling, experiencing, and remembering a trip. I chose content that was interesting and potentially made others want to experience something similar.” -Mike Gray

  6. V I S I U A L I Z A T I O N : “CY Stands By SIR” • In creating a visualization for SIR Magazine, I chose to create a miniature in-publication advertisement that could be put almost anywhere in the magazine or on their online site. • I chose the 1983 Cy and using Photoshop I added SIR’s logo.
