  2. Introduction • Bethany Hamilton is girl that you may not know of. She is the girl that got her left arm cut of by a tiger shark when she was 13 and lost 60% of her blood. She is also known as one of the worlds best surfer. • I choose her because I relate to a similar situation when I broke my arm skiing I had a hard time doing what I love also. I also choose her because I liked her movie and books and she inspired me to keep things to do things that were hard for me.

  3. Birth • Bethany was born February 8th 1990 in Kauai Hawaii , United States and started surfing when she was 1. She has lived in Hawaii ever sense.

  4. Family • Bethany has a big family! Herself her two brothers Noah and Tim. Her mom and dad and her dog Hanalei. They all live in Hawaii.

  5. How she got famous • On October 31st 2003 at the age of 13 she was lying on her surfboard with friends Alana and her brother and father. With her left arm dangling in the water a 15 foot tiger shark attacked her ripping her arm off un to the shoulder. Spending the next 7 days in the hospital. She was determined to continue surfing. So she tried and tried and eventually taught her self to surf. She is one of the world best female surfers ever.

  6. Why they are important • She is important to the world because she shows people to keep trying. Bethany thinks sense she still can surf she needs to give back. She goes on many trips such as Mexico and Thai Land to help the less fortunate. She is a great impact on people who struggle doing things. By her surfing titles you can see that she did not give up.

  7. What is she doing now • Bethany still lives in Hawaii and is still surfing she is not married or dead. She works for many different charities and goes all around the world surfing and helping others. If she had not been born some people would always give up and stop trying.
