Using the PATCAT Finder Tool • Select a major grouping of interest on the Major PATCAT Groupings screen • Follow the instructions for the grouping of interest in order to move through the PATCAT Code categories and hierarchy • As you make selections the categories will become more focused, and you will be guided to a specific PATCAT Code for the patient • The PATCAT Code is shown in a box as the last step in each PATCAT Code logic flow Return To Introduction

Example: Find the PATCAT Code for an Air Force Active Duty Patient • Select “U.S. Military” on the Major PATCAT Groupings screen • Select “Active Duty” on the U.S. Military screen • Select “Air Force” on the Active Duty – U.S. Military – Sponsor Service screen • Select “Air Force Active Duty, Former AD” on the Active Duty – Air Force screen • Read the PATCAT Code for an Air Force Active Duty patient as “F11” Return To Introduction
