  2. The Revolutionary War 1775 to 1783 1. Check the Service Records to see if he served in the war. • “Index to Service Records of Revolutionary War Soldiers” 53 rolls of microfilm all located at the MRFHC.

  4. The Revolutionary War 1775 to 1783 3. Check the records of the Daughters of the American Revolution to see if a descendant of a patriot joined the Society • The lineage from the descendant to the patriot is proven and provides much information

Check the DAR Patriot Index or Internet. http://www.dar.org • The books are located next to the military section • 973 C42da • Check the Index to the Rolls of Honor. • On microfiche at the MRFHC • 793 fiche in 92 packets. • Lineage Books • Check the DAR help in the binder next to the military section.

War of 1812 1812 to 1815 Step 1: Check the Service Records on CD computers 1, 2 and 3 at the MRFHC. • Click on CD Viewer • Click on CD Folder and scroll to Military Under Title, scroll to War of 1812 muster rolls. • Click on Load CD • Enter last and first name of veteran • Copy military unit information to order packet from National Archives.

  8. Step 2: Check Pension Index by Virgil White 973 M22i • 2 Volumes: A – I and J - Z • Arranged alphabetically Step 3: Order the veteran's information from the National Archives.

  9. The Mexican War 1846 to 1848 The conflict between the United States and Mexico resulted from the annexation of Texas by the United States in 1845. 35,000 U.S. Army troops and 73,000 state volunteers fought in this war.
