  4. The Real Reason? Why does the knight really go on his quest? Goes for a stated reason But never completes the stated reason So why does he go??

  5. The Real Reason For A Quest is Always Self Knowledge • The real reason for the quest is often never stated, but usually involves: • Must not be too old to learn Self-knowledge and education for our hero/ine

  6. Can you think of any “Quests” you’ve read or seen? Quests= Hero, dangerous road, someone evil, someone to rescue, some treasure to find. . . In groups, brainstorm a list of quests (literary and cinematic).

  7. Think about: The knights of the roundtable and the quest for the Holy Grail! Frodo and Samwise heading off to Mt. Doom in Lord of the Rings! Chronicles of Narnia? The Odyssey? Star Wars? Indiana Jones?

  8. Practice Application(Prepare to respond to each other)

  9. So… Is Every Trip a Quest? No, sometimes the plot is as simple as an uneventful day going to work
