Training • This presentation was designed to help you document your training and pull training reports • This presentation represents an attempt to provide ongoing training related to Firehouse Software • While this presentation covers a significant amount of material, it might not cover all aspects of a particular feature • We will continue to try to provide solutions to your Firehouse reporting needs

  4. Training Reports • Monthly Training is for Lieutenants, Captains, and other to find information Department Wide • Detailed Training Attendance is for you to pull an accurate time total for your training and activities

  5. To Enter Training • To Enter Training you must open the training data entry window • This is accomplished by selecting the Training button from the tool bar

  6. Starting a Training Report • When you select to enter training, this screen may Pop Up • If this happens, evaluate the listed training to see if your training fits into an established record • If it does, place your name and hours on the existing record • If it does not, select New to create a New Record

  7. Existing Training • Adding to an existing record applies to all training entries • You can change the hours to reflect your correct hours on any existing report • This cuts down on multiple records for a structure fire, general drills, etc • You will learn how to change your specific hours in a couple of slides • Common existing reports are PT, Maintenance, Preplans, Hydrants, etc. • Please place your people on these reports with correct apparatus, station, and hours

  9. Entering Training • This is the first screen to enter your Training • The first date relates to Start Date. This is the date the actual training occurred • The category identifies the training that occurred

  10. Category Selection • When you select the Category Button it takes you to this screen • You will select the appropriate training type from the entries on this list

  11. Categories • Under each section you will find training common to our department and categories that meet our needs • In House Training or On Duty Training is no longer an option • PT both on and off duty still exists under the “FIRE” section

Categories cont. • It is important to select the appropriate category • PT is not Fire Tactical • Preplans are not Lifesafety • A House fire is not Live Fire. • PT fits under the “PT” category • Preplans are listed as “Preplans” under the Fire Category • A House Fire is a “Working Fire” under the Admin Codes Please Select the best option to document your training

  13. Times and Dates • Please be careful about creating one record for a months worth of training • The Start Date and the End Date should be the same day, except for training that begins before and ends after midnight

Times and Dates • You should enter a separate record for each and every day of training that occurs • In some cases this can create a headache. ie Paramedic School, EMT School, 40 hour classes, etc • In these instances… • Create one record for the day the training begins • Enter the same Start Date and End Date • Change the Hours Worked and Hours Paid to reflect the needed time frame

  16. Basic Information • Most of the remainder of this is self-explanatory • Enter the location for the training, the agency, the station, the type, and the method of instruction • Again, If you are adding to an existing report change your hours when you add your name to the report

  17. Existing Record • Select Add • Add your information • Save Record Different Hours Different Stations Existing Record

  18. Attendee Detail • Attendee Detail • This adds you to the training report • Hours Worked and Hours Paid reflects 60 hours • Click save to add your name and training to the existing report • Make Sure your Hours are Correctly Reflected

  19. Rating Bureau Criteria • Please add ONE rating bureau criteria to your training record • Again, select the best option for the list • Most are self explanatory • The next slide answers common questions about others

Rating Continued • Company Training – Any training conducted with equipment from an apparatus • Driver – Existing Driver Training or AO type training • New Driver – New Driver Drive Time, DDP, Etc • MultiCompany – More than One Apparatus attending • Single Company – Individual or Crew training that does not involve the apparatus • Self Study/Multimedia – All training by your self involving a computer or magazine

  21. Notes • All Training records should have notes to provide specific details about the training. • Misc or Miscellaneous is not appropriate • PT, read magazine article on”_____”, IS100, Conducted Search Evolutions, etc are all appropriate • EMT school, Paramedic School, PHTLS, ACLS, CPR are all appropriate • Provide enough information so you can remember what the training was and we can find you in the event that something happens to the record
