The Significance of Baptism in Catholic Faith

DESCRIPTION

Baptism is a vital sacrament in Catholicism, typically received in infancy. During the ceremony, a priest pours water on the individual while prayers are recited by the priest, parents, and godparents. This sacrament frees us from Original Sin and welcomes us into the Church community as children of God. The baptized receive a white garment and a candle, symbolizing purity and the light of Christ. Through baptism, we not only become part of the faith but also gain the ability to receive other sacraments that deepen our relationship with God.
