  1. Cellular and molecular mechanisms that underpin organ toxicities, with special focus on CNS, the immune system, kidney, testicular, pulmonary, liver and cardiovascular toxicity • Translational drug safety science such as cross-species correlation in safety endpoints, clinical/pre-clinical safety correlations, relating early changes in tissues to traditional toxicology (longer term) endpoints and in vitro alternatives to in vivo models. • Safety assessment of new modalities such as regenerative medicines (both stem cells and stimulation of endogenous stem cells), oligonucleotides, miRNAs, nanoformulations etc. • PK/PD modelling and bioinformatic and modelling approaches to safety and toxicology assessment including study designs and outcomes ABPI NaBDEN: Areas of interest for ITTP studentships
