Nike • Nike, Inc. is a major American supplier of athletic shoes, apparel and sports equipment. • The "Swoosh" is among the most easily recognized brand symbols in the world. • In June 1972, the first running shoes bearing the "Swoosh" were introduced at the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon. Nike continues to use the brand symbol today. • Nike's predecessor, Blue Ribbon Sports, is incorporated in Oregon. • American record-holder Steve Prefontaine becomes the first major track athlete to wear Nike shoes. • Corporate revenues surpass $1 billion for the first time. • Nike print ad with the tag "There is no finish line" is introduced.

Wendy's agrees that the recent industry efforts to move away from single sow gestation crates is the right way to go and we applaud their efforts. Wendy's Animal Welfare Program has included "laying hens" since 2001. Wendy's has been using an objective auditing program to monitor, verify and evaluate proper animal handling among our U.S. and Canadian suppliers since 1998. Wendy's began routinely auditing the animal handling practices Wendy's hired outside experts to review supplier performance and recommend improvements. Wendy's has established an Animal Welfare Council to review the effectiveness of company and supplier efforts on an ongoing basis. Wendy's Animal Welfare Council consists of senior and mid-level executives representing key areas of our business.

  4. Reebok Reeboks are a British brand of athletic footwear. It was founded in 1895. The name was found in a dictionary and won in a race by the found Joe Foster as a boy. It traces its origins to a spiked running shoe created in the 1800’s. J.W. Fosters shoe was so popular that he created a company. By 1979 Reeboks were officially introduced to the United States.

The company was named after its founder, Adolf (Aid) Dazzler, who started producing shoes in the 1920s in Herzogenaurach near Nuremberg with the help of his brother Rudolf Dazzler who later formed rival shoe company PUMA AG. In 2005, French courts awarded Tape a €135 million compensation (about 886 million francs). Taipei decided to move production offshore to Asia. He also hired Madonna for promotion. Celebrities who have endorsed Adidas products in ads include tennis players Arthur Ashe and Anna Kournikova, soccer star David Beckham and basketball star Kobe Bryant. Hip hop group RUN DMC recorded the song "My Adidas" for the album "Raising Hell," which was released in 1986. Sample lyrics include the line "Now the Adidas I possess for one man is rare, myself, homeboy, got 50 pair.“ The company revenue for 2008 was listed at €10.799 billion and the 2007 figure was listed at €10.299 billion, or about US$15.6 billion

McDonald's has sold well over 100 billion hamburgers. The smallest McDonald's restaurant measures only 492 square feet and is on the Ginza in Tokyo, Japan. Ronald McDonald® speaks more than 25 different languages.

  7. B.M.W BMW, as well as Ford and Mazda, are developing vehicles with conventional internal combustion engines running on hydrogen. BMW has been working with hydrogen vehicles for over 25 years and has introduced its seventh generation H2ICE. In 2006, BMW put nearly 100 bi-fuel BMW Hydrogen 7s in the hands of drivers in the U.S. and other countries. BMW has followed up with the introduction of the mono-fuel Hydrogen 7 with an engine that's been optimized to run exclusively on hydrogen . A big advantage of H2ICEs is their minimal required changes in engine manufacturing and the maintenance infrastructure.. H2ICEs can speed up the establishment of a hydrogen distribution infrastructure, bolstering the transportation sector for the so-called 'hydrogen economy. Both versions of the BMW Hydrogen 7 share the performance, comfort, and safety qualities of every production BMW 7 Series car.

Polo Ralph Lauren specializes in high-end casual/semi-formal wear for men and women, as well as accessories, fragrances, home (bedding, towels) and housewares. It has its headquarters in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. The brand was launched in 1967 when Ralph Lauren, born Ralph Lifschitz, got a $50,000 loan.
