Calculated Heat Loss • Assumptions: • No convection between panes • Gap width equal to 0.5 inches • Free convection • Finding the h values: • Each Nussel number was calculated to find the h value • Determining the heat gain from convection • Using a thermal circuit, heat transfer was calculated • Determining the heat loss from convection • Thermal circuit was used again to find heat transfer

  7. Financial Burden • Using a value of 0.069 dollars per kWh, total cost was figured to be $615.00 per year National Electricity Rates
