  2. Global Problem • Only 2.5% of the worlds water is freshwater • Not all is accessible • A lot of that water is wasted

  3. Local Problem • Too much water is being wasted through insufficient faucet heads • 2.2 gallons of water per minute are being produced by the current faucets, and that is too much

  5. Aerators • Aerators are a type of head that you can put on a faucet • The Aerators combine air and water to conserve the average amount of water pouring out of the faucet.

  6. Mount View has 130 faucets…

  7. …none of those 130 faucets are low flow

  8. Water Usage • The main faucets are the bathrooms and there are 30 • The faucets at Mt. view produce 2.2 gallon/minute • These aerators produce .5 gallons/minute • After 2 minutes of running water a single faucet could save 1.162356 gallons

  9. Cost ($) • To buy aerators for the entire school at $ 4.50 per aerator is $ 585 • To buy aerators for only the main faucets (30 bathroom faucets) it would cost $ 135

  10. Opinion • We think that the aerators should be bought for all faucets in the school
