  16. The Pitch – What is it? • Opportunity to get involved • An outlet for your creativity, get your hands dirty! • Meet people, have fun, build your portfolio

How it works • I will brief you on a new product that wants to hire an agency for its new campaign • You will break into teams to develop and ultimately pitch an ad/campaign to “the client” • A winner will be decided and (awesome bragging rights) will be awarded! • (Hopefully) Fun will be had by all!

The Brief • Detective Schrader is an honest, hard-working DEA agent in the Albuquerque, NM area who has enjoyed home-brewing his signature beer in his garage for several years • With the encouragement of his friends and family, he has decided to scale up production of his beer and to sell it across the country, but he knows that he needs to advertise if he wants people to buy it!

  20. What’s his brand? • The beer: Belgian-style wheat beer • Competing with Blue Moon, Shock Top, etc. • Comes from a humble background, but achieved success through hard-work and determination • People should drink his beer for enjoyment, not to get drunk

  21. Your Job • Determine target market • Choose your media, develop a campaign, create a mock-up of the design (or a really good description!) • Tell a story and sell it • Have fun!
