Provocations • Openness will succeed because before manufacturers, providers and operators have their act together, this model is already in place • The closed model will win because the open model will be so messy that customers want the reliability of the telephone system • The internet is completely unlike the telephony system. Lack of lock in makes operators like today infeasible in the long run.
