  1. UFP Report Jeff Koerner Feb 10 TG Roundtable

TGCDB • UFP staff members spanning multiple RPs successfully upgraded the primary and secondary instances of the TGCDB • The upgrade provided significant performance enhancements as well as having furnished an ongoing supported version of PostgreSQL for the TGCDB. • Successful replication of the TGCDB continues. • Primary SDSC • Secondary PSC • A third TAS instance of the TGCDB is now located at buffalo and receives updates from the secondary.

  3. TG User Portal • The GIG coordinated and funded advance LifeRay training for members of both the TGUP and Documentation teams at the LR corporate offices in CA last Dec. • Training focused on processes, development within the LR framework and administration of LR. • Migration away from TG new user mail packet underway. • Vetted/Unvetted user process • Coordination with the documentation group is under way to update existing new user documentation.

TeraGrid Knowledge Base • TeraGrid Knowledge Base Statistics for 2010 • Total number of documents available = 760 • Number of new documents created = 100 • Number of documents modified = 646 • Number of documents archived = 34 • Analysis of the hits for which we have referrer information. • Search interfaces on the Knowledge Base and TeraGrid servers account for a relatively small proportion of the searches. • Primarily people are getting to TGKB documentation through Google searches.

  5. Operational Analysis • For Q4 2010, we had 515 new users. • In October, 1,373 users charged jobs - a new monthly high • TeraGrid users numbered 6,505 at end of Q4 • 5,563 individuals with current TeraGrid accounts • 942 users submitted jobs via a science gateways • 2,846 Total TG user submitted Jobs • 1,904 Non-gateway submitted jobs • 942 Gateway submitted jobs, nearly 1/3 of TeraGrid users submitted jobs through a gateway • The allocation staff continues to receive in excess of two new/renewal startup requests each day. • 206 Startup requests (168 approved) • 12 Education requests (12 approved)
