Why travel? • Create understanding of worldwide cultures. • Enhance learning of alternate governments • Increase awareness of challenges faced by different societies. • Help students develop a global perspective • Generate an appreciation for the comforts of the USA. • Make students aware of opportunities that exist beyond US borders. Requirements for Travel • Students who travel with the Explorer’s Club are asked to take at least two of the following courses at Turner: • AP World History • AP English (4) Literature • 3rd year of Spanish • Global Business • ACC Art History • Requirements: • Have taken 2 of the required courses • Currently enrolled in at least 1 of the required classes • Will agree to sign up for at least 2 of the required classes before graduation • Clear discipline – no major violations of the code of conduct

Our Approach to Safety • Chaperones – District Admin, Campus Admin, Teachers, Other District Personnel • Small Groups • 1 adult for every 5 students • Each adult will be responsible for their 5 students at all times. • Rooming • Only by gender • Set up in groups of 2, 3, or 4 • EFTours -- 24-hour emergency on-call service

  9. Passports & visas All travelers are responsible for securing necessary documentation • Passports • Valid passports are required for all travelers. Passports may take up to 14 weeks to process. • Important note: Passports must be valid for at least six months after our return date. • Visas • Non U.S. citizens may require special visas or other travel documents.

What are you responsible for? • Spending money • For additional tour experiences, free time activities, souvenirs, beverages, lunches and snacks ($30-$65 per day) • Tips • For your Tour Director, bus driver and local guides (around $10 per day) • Airport baggage fees • Passport and/or visa fees

  16. What The Global Travel Protection Plan covers – included in your tour • Tour cancellation and interruption • Illness and accident • Baggage and property • Flight delay • 24-hour access to an English-speaking representative

Payment options 2 3 1 Pay in full at enrollment (free) Automatic Payment Plan (free) Manual Payment Plan ($50 fee) • Pay the entire balance at the time you enroll • Payment methods accepted: Visa or MasterCard, ATM/debit card or personal checks • Payments are automatically deducted from your bank account monthly on a preferred date or bi-weekly on a preferred weekday • Payment methods accepted: checking account, ATM/debit card or personal checks • Final payment extended up to one month before your tour • Receive invoices and make payments in less frequent installments • Payment methods accepted: Visa or MasterCard, ATM/debit card or personal checks • Accounts must have $500 total paid 30 days after enrollment; an additional $500 paid 90 days after enrollment • Final payment deadline is 110 days before your tour
