  3. Journal • 第一份學術期刊 -> The Lancet(1823) : 終結 “神秘與隱藏” • “出版否則就毀滅” : 期刊已成為學術交流最重要的工具 • 由於電子期刊及期刊資料庫的盛行，「大爆炸時代」已然降臨：大學間在期刊數方面已有片面的平等。 • 然而期刊數仍然問題所在，如何使這些期刊被有效的利用也是很重要的問題：例如參考連結，及文章之間透過OpenURL連結。
