  1. WHAT IS GA? GENERAL ASSEMBLY MARCH 2012 General Assembly (GA) is the biennial meeting of the highest governing body in the Presbyterian Church (USA). The 220th General Assembly will take place at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, PA from June 30 through July 7, 2012. It’s: • 688 Ruling Elders and Teaching Elders. • Thousands of Presbyterians from all over the country. • Eight days of deliberations, worship, and decision making about the mission and ministries of PC (USA). • A Presbyterian “family reunion”. General Assembly meetings are open; anyone may register and attend the Assembly when it is in general session. It’s an opportunity for us all to learn more about our denomination and see its decision making process in action. Many people travel across the country to be part of GA and here it is … right in our own backyard!

  2. WHAT IS COLA? COMMITTEE ON LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS MARCH 2012 The Committee on Local Arrangements (COLA) is made up of local Presbyterians from churches across the Pittsburgh, Beaver Butler, Huntingdon, Kiskiminetas, Lake Erie, Redstone, Shenango, Upper Ohio Valley, and Washington Presbyteries as well as the Synod of the Trinity and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. These Presbyterians are working together to make the necessary arrangements for the 220th General Assembly. It is a mammoth undertaking because we will be hosting the entire denomination plus an international ecumenical group of guests. www.cola2012.org
