Reflectometer Sensor Study Update CRRC Technical Committee November 17, 2008
Background • The Board of Directors met by conference call in September and discussed the changes to the D&S reflectometer with Charlie Moore • The Board voted to sponsor a study examining the impact of the changes on CRRC rated products • The study is being overseen by a CRRC task group, with lab services donated by ORNL, LBNL, and D&S
Study Goals • Determine the average impact of the sensor upgrade on measured solar reflectance • Compare Version 5 to Version 5 emulation and Version 6 • Identify product types that experience a decrease on solar reflectance of 0.05 or greater
Study Structure • Three different labs testing identical sample sets • Sample sets chosen to represent the full range of products in the CRRC directory • Measurements taken with a Version 5 device, and a Version 6 device in Version 5 emulation mode, and a Version 6 device • All measurements will use E891 solar spectrum
Progress to Date • Sample set chosen • Study outline approved by task group …? • Sample collection in progress
Administration • CRRC Staff Liaison: Molly Trombley-McCann • Task Group Leader: Bill Kirn • Task Group Members • Mike Ennis, Rich Lee, Marty Hastings, Don Portfolio, Ingo Joedicke, Hashem Akbari, Ronnen Levinson, Andre Desjarlais, Dave Cocuzzi, Richard Allan Snyder
