KESA 2019-2020 • General Expectations for Systems • Contact onsite visiting team (OVT) chair and team members to: • make sure still are located in the same place • still willing to serve • date for 2019-20 Visit • collaborate on agenda and visit expectations • Meet with DLT and BLT to: • review and analyze data • determine implementation success and impact • discuss how process is impacting State Board Outcomes

KESA 2019-2020 • General Expectations for Systems • Ensure that all system staff understand the data and implementation process and evaluation of process • Complete “System Yearly Update” for year in accreditation cycle • Have OVT visit • Follow-up with OVT chair after visit to verify the OVT report is submitted

KESA 2019-2020 • Onsite Visiting Team (OVT) Chair expectations: • Know who are your OVT members • Contact System to determine the date for the visit • Review “System Yearly Update” prior to System Visit. • Discuss the “System Yearly Update” report with OVT members • Call system to collaborate on agenda and discuss concerns, needs, and/or focus group expectations

KESA 2019-2020 • Systems accredited in KESA last year (2018-2019),will need to complete the KESA Initial Report and the “System Yearly Update – Year One” report. • Systems up for accreditation in KESA this year (2019-2020) will need to complete the KESA Final Report and the “System Yearly Update – Year Five”. • All other systems need to complete the “System Yearly Update” for their respective year in their cycle.

  7. General Information • In 2018-2019 twenty-one (21) Systems were accredited (8 public and 13 private) • KESA regulations are back from attorney general’s office • In 2019-2020 there will be 30 systems seeking accreditation (15 public and 15 private)

  11. KESA Application Enhancements • Tabs to help navigate easier • System Reports • OVT Reports • Workbooks completed in 17-18 • OVT Reports broken down by year • Artifacts Upload

Accreditation Review Council (ARC) • Met on September 25, 2019 • This meeting discussion focused on: • Finalizing Accreditation Criteria for distribution to field • Improving Executive Summary for State Board • ARC responsibilities in the KESA Application • Several Openings because of position changes. More information via list serves.

Accreditation Review Council (ARC) • Will have seven meetings this year. • First meeting scheduled for September 25, 2019 • This year’s discussion items: • Finalizing Accreditation Criteria for distribution to field • Improving Executive Summary for State Board • Hands on training with dedicated KESA Application for review purposes • Review of cohort 2020 systems for accreditation (those systems who entered as a year three system)

Accreditation Advisory Council (AAC) • Met on September 9, 2019 in Wichita • Discussion items for this meeting were: • Complete revision of KESA Rubrics with redesign principles integration • General Updates • Currently seven openings • Business/industry, classified staff, High School Certified Staff (2), Middle School Administrator, Middle School Certified Staff, Parent • Nomination form will be sent out via list serves

Accreditation Advisory Council (AAC) • Will meet five times this schools year • First meeting scheduled for September 9, 2019 in Wichita • Discussion items for this year • Complete revision of KESA Rubrics with redesign principles integration • 20 – 30% System spot reviews of documentation • Maximizing their talents in support of KESA
