  2. Scientific Theory • A scientific theory is an explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on a body of facts that have been repeatedly confirmed through observation and experiment. Such fact-supported theories are not "guesses" but reliable descriptions of the real world.

  4. Red Shift • Shift of wavelengths of light towards the red end of the spectrum; happens as a light source moves away from us (Earth). • Red shift is related to the Doppler Effect: • Change in frequency of a wave for an observer moving relative to its sourceclick for video

  6. Hubble’s Law • The farther away a galaxy is, the faster it is moving away from us. • Used Red Shift data to come to this conclusion.

  10. Doppler Effect • See how the wavelength is compressed due to movement of the car. • This works similarly with light as it moves away from Earth.
