  5. edge • the line where an object or surface begins or ends

  6. crash • to collide with a loud noise

  7. melt • to change states from a solid to a liquid, mainly due to the temperature getting warmer

  8. waves • a moving ridge on the surface of water

  9. floating • to rest on the surface of a fluid

  10. messages • a communication in writing, in speech, or by signals

  11. lifeboats • a sturdy boat for use in an emergency and especially for saving lives

  12. packed • to crowd in

  13. cracks • to break or cause to break with a sudden sharp sound

  14. tilts • to move or shift so as to slant or tip

  15. sink • to move or cause to move downward usually so as to be below the surface

  16. drowned • to suffocate in a liquid

  17. glacier • a large body of ice moving slowly

  18. chunk • a short thick piece or lump

  19. peaks • the top of a hill or mountain

  20. calm • a state of freedom from excitement or disturbance
