What’s going to happen next • Priority Planning Groups are meeting this month • Taking place May 14-23, 2012 • Set a 3-5 year outcome target for each priority area • Identify the initial strategies and initiatives needed to achieve these outcomes 2. Release Strategic Plan for public comment in June • Final draft released around July 2012 3. Implementation of Strategic Plan 4. Pursue continuous quality improvement • PHD Program Reviews • Continuously measure progress and course correct, and identify new priorities

Health Assessment • Oregon’s State Health Profile Committee proposed 69 indicators in six categories to assess Oregon’s health status. • Health Status: Mortality, Morbidity, Quality of Life • Health Behavior: Alcohol, Tobacco, Diet, Physical Activity, Sexual Activity • Context: Social, Economic • Environment: Occupational, Natural, Built • Access to Services: Public Health, Preventive, Insurance, MICH • Policy: Tobacco, Obesity

Health Assessment • Oregon State University has completed two supplements to the proposed health status indicators: • Key stakeholder survey evaluating awareness of PHD’s delivery of the 10 Essential Public Health Services with 129 respondents in total, and 45 respondents affiliated with local health departments. • Key informant interviews to assess challenges and opportunities for the PHD’s delivery of the 10 Essential Public Health Services.

Statewide Health Improvement Plan • Contract is executed to support the HIP • Gap analysis of community engagement from the Oregon Health Improvement Plan, multiple PHD program strategic plans, and local community health assessments, as available • Additional community feedback from both traditional and emerging public health partners, along with key stakeholder interviews • Final SHIP by the end of August
