Infrastructural Features • Air transport makes almost the wholemigration flow • All Russian airlines admitted to international traffic fly to Turkey • After April 16, 2011 the amount of air passengers between two countries increased by 363%, comparing with 2010.
Russia and Turkey signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of civil aviation At the beginning of April 2013 an agreement on cooperation in the field of civil aviation was signed between Russia and Turkey. Main points: • Turkey is able to use the Russian airspace much more and, besides, conduct flights over its territory to other countries. • The number of flights from Russia to the Turkish provinces such as Samsun, Gaziantep and Nevsehir will increase. • Turkish Airlines will be able to make flights to CIS countries through Russian airspace without restrictions on frequency of flights. • Turkey will use Transsyberia airspace for flights to the Far East (Tokyo, Osaka, Bishkek, and Ulan Bator). Russia and Turkey will be able to increase the frequency of flights and introduce alternative routes. • Turkish Airlines will be able to transport on ten areas in Russia. (Now it performs around 70 flights in Russia weekly and intends to increase this number by three times). • Removal of restrictions on the frequency of cargo flights.
