  2. Geography Absolute location= 39 degrees N. 35 degrees East Relative location= Southeastern Europe, Southwest Asia. Physical place= High central plateau, narrow coastal plain, and several mountain ranges. Movement= 117 airports, 18 heliports, 385,960 kilometers of highways, 67 vehicles per 100 people, 8,697 kilometers of railways, 426,951 kilometers of roadways, and 1,200 kilometers of waterways.

  3. History Turkey was founded in 1923. In 1945, it joined UN (United Nations), and in 1952 it joined NATO. In 1964, Turkey became a member of the European Community.

  4. Economy Turkey has a developing economy. Five reasons are… >The population of people between 0-14 years is 24.4% >The percent of the population that lives in urban areas is 64% >Turkey produces 300 million barrels of oil. >The GDP is $12,900. >The infant mortality is 36.98 deaths.   5. Politics Turkey’s government is a secular parliamentary representative democratic republic. Which means that the leader of government is the prime minister, not a president. The prime minister of Turkey is RecepTayyipErdogan. RecepTayyipErdogan, the prime minister speaking out to a crowd.

  6. Culture The main religions in Turkey are Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. The only language spoken in Turkey is Turkish. Holidays are National Sovereignty and Children’s Day on April 23. The Commemoration of Ataturk, which is also Youth and Sports Day, is on March 19. Victory Day is on August 30. Republic Day is on October 29. After the Islamic month, Ramadan, they have the Ramadan feast. 70 days after the end of Ramadan is the Sacrifice Feast. Turkish people wear shirts and pants. Turkish people dancing to a folk song.

Male literacy rate= 95.3% Female literacy rate= 79.6% This is a chart of population density in Turkey as well as many other countries including Japan, China, and the United States of America. Turkey is gray, Japan is blue, China is yellow, and USA is brown.

  8. Interesting Information It has a total of 2,468 kilometers of land boundaries. It was founded on October 29, 1923. Five different languages are spoken in Turkey, Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic, Armenian, and Greek. All time, it has 64 summer Olympic medals. The currency in Turkey is the lira. 1 US dollar equals 1428453 liras!
