  2. Identification of Students • Conduct the Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) for grades K-8 • Conduct the Math Achievement Predictors for grades 3-8 • Refer to the Basic Skills Matrix • Use multiple forms of data to identify students • Utilize RTI tiers to group students

  4. Data Analysis • Utilize Performance Matters • Use data to drive instruction • Export data on Excel and create filters to facilitate data analysis • Analyze data on an ongoing basis

  5. Individualized Student Improvement Plan (ISIP) • Provided for individual students • Plan of instruction to address students’ needs • Updated as needed • Provides the classroom teacher, I&RS Committee, and/or Child Study Team with additional documentation on students’ progress

DRA2 Progress Monitoring Assessment • Powerful diagnostic tool • Conducted every 2-3 weeks • Identify students’ instructional reading levels • Designed to inform reading instruction • Monitor the progress of struggling readers between benchmark periods (DRA assessments) • Measures reading growth

DRA2 Progress Monitoring Assessment • 95 brief, leveled fiction and non-fiction passages (level 4-60) • Teacher Observation Guides that correspond to the leveled passages • Monitor progress in the following areas: • Oral Reading Rate and accuracy • Comprehension Skills • Analyze Vocabulary and Word Reading Skills • Provides prescriptive guidance in terms of if-then statements

  8. Progress Monitoring: Math Achievement Predictors • Conduct a pre-test and a post-test • Determine the student’s strengths, needs, and growth in the following areas: 1. Computation 2. Concepts 3. Problem Solving

  9. Basic Skills Portfolio and Work Folder • Portfolio should contain the following: 1. Individualized Student Improvement Plan (ISIP) 2. Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) 3. Math Achievement Predictors 4. DRA2 Progress Monitoring Assessments 5. Checklists, forms, anecdotes, and etc. 6. Progress reports Content in the Work Folders should be reflective of the ISIP!
