High Level Goals • Long term goals • Implement an inquiry/research education culture within public schools system in Kuwait • Science fairs, awareness and programs to be available in all Kuwaiti middle and secondary schools • Increase the number of students participating in science fairs by 20% within 3 years • Short term goals - Progress • Training completed for 45 science & math teachers on 21st century skills to promote enquiry based learning in the classrooms • 25 Teachers have volunteered to as mentors to assist students with projects • Preparations are underway to conduct a nationwide science fair in January 2011 • Scientific Review committee has been formed and has been trained on ISEF requirements/standards. • Judging committee is under review

Achievements • Working closely with Ministry of Education to widen the interest in Science projects and involve more students and teachers • Kuwaiti Fair affiliation to ISEF has been completed • Almost 25% of Kuwaiti schools have been approached to conduct science training and identify potential talented students • External funding from reputable Kuwaiti NGO has been secured to support the local science fair competition and conduct nationwide awareness campaigns to promote student involvement in Science and research and the ISEF compeition
