  1. 3 TheReading Isaiah 40:1-11…

  2. Let’s Talk about Isaiah The Messianic Prophet.

  3. Prepare The Way of The LORD Isaiah 40:3… “ The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God.

  4. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. Who was the one crying in the wilderness? The privilege was given unto John the son of Zacharias, he was the one selected in order to prepare the way for the Lord. Was John the baptizer THE “Lord”? No. He very emphatically said it. I am not He!

  5. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. John was only a “voice” for the One who was about to come. John did recognize that Jesus was superior than him in every way, “whose sandals strap I am not worthy to loose” John 1:27.

  6. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. Isaiah 40:3-5… is almost identical to that found in all four Gospel accounts in reference to the coming of John the Baptist as a forerunner of Christ. Matthew 3:3; Mark 1:3; Luke 3:4; John 1:23…

  7. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. Matthew 3:3… For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying: "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the LORD; Make His paths straight.'"

  8. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. Mark 1:3… "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the LORD; Make His paths straight.'"

  9. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. Luke 3:4… “as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the LORD; Make His paths straight.

  10. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. John 1:23… “He said: "I am 'The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Make straight the way of the LORD,"' as the prophet Isaiah said."

  11. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS.

  12. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. The original purpose of this message was to comfort Judah by giving her assurance that her affliction in Babylonians captivity was at the end. Under the reign of Cyrus, Judah’s bondage was to be broken and the people were to be set free.

  13. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. The ultimate and highest fulfillment of this prophecy however, came when John the Baptist prepared the way for The Lord to deliver mankind out of the captivity of Sin. He did not merely announce that The messiah was coming; rather, he called upon, men to prepare the way, by genuine repentance, for the coming of Christ.

  14. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. “A voice Calling”, He was not “The voice”. This is not the voice of The Lord. John 1: 8: John 3:28.

  15. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. John 1:8… “He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

  16. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. John 3:28… "You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, 'I am not the Christ,' but, 'I have been sent before Him.'

  17. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. “John will bring many unto the Lord” His mission was to make every path straight. It was prophesied even before he was born. Luke 1:17.

  18. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. Luke 1:17… "He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, 'to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,' and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."

  19. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. The mission of this forerunner was short but very effective. Jesus spoke very highly of John When He was asking the people: What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? Matthew 11:7-11.

  20. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. Matthew 11:7-11. As they departed, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John: "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? "But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Indeed, those who wear soft clothing are in kings' houses.

  21. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. Matthew 11:7-11. "But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet. "For this is he of whom it is written: 'Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You.'

  22. THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS. Matthew 11:7-11. "Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

  23. JOHN WAS PREPARING THE WAY FOR THE LORD. The Hebrew Word for Lord is: Jehovah Jehovah God or Jesus? We have no problem to apply this prophecy to either or, but in order to follow the Hermeneutical way, the idea is that Lord Jesus is the Lord. But Jesus is JEHOVAH!

  36. WHAT WAS JOHN SUPPOSE TO PREPARE! The People, they have been with God for more than 400 years and now finally the promise from God to Adam came into realization. Genesis 3:15. The promise from God to Abraham was also made a reality; God was helping again his people by sending His messenger to prepare the way for the Lord. They need to have a good heart in order to receive the Messiah and John came first for that. To PREPARE

  37. WHAT WAS JOHN SUPPOSE TO PREPARE! God Promise to Abraham the he will be great. Genesis 12:1-3; Jesus was the fulfillment of that Galatians 4:4 Jesus was the greatest promise made unto the father of our faith, and even though Abraham did not see it, he believe by faith! Hebrews 11:8.

"And the LORD spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. You heard the sound of the words, but saw no form; you only heard a voice.

  39. WHAT WAS JOHN SUPPOSE TO PREPARE! John 1:18; Matthew 11:27; No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. "All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.

  40. WHAT WAS JOHN SUPPOSE TO PREPARE! The reconciliation came by God when he sent His Son! Isaiah 42:1; 2 Corinthians 5:18, 19. "Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.

  42. WHAT WAS JOHN SUPPOSE TO PREPARE! The reconciliation came by God when he sent His Son! 2 Corinthians 5:19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

  43. GOD SUPPLIES FOR US THE MOST ESCELLENT SACRIFICE! The purpose for John to come and for Isaiah to write his prophecy was to warn people bout the most ever beautiful sacrifice that God was planning on the whole earth. God will come in the flesh and die. Amazing, Unbelievable, that how much God loved us; He put flesh in His divine body in order to amalgamate with us.

  44. GOD SUPPLIES FOR US THE MOST ESCELLENT SACRIFICE! In Isaiah 40:6. God was tired of so much fat of bulls and blood of Goat that cannot cleanse man for good. That when he decides to sent Jesus. The voice said, "Cry out!" And he said, "What shall I cry?" "All flesh is grass, And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.

  45. GOD SUPPLIES FOR US THE MOST ESCELLENT SACRIFICE! Hebrews 10:4-6… “God prepared a Body For God the Son”. 4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.5 Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me.

  46. GOD SUPPLIES FOR US THE MOST ESCELLENT SACRIFICE! 47. GOD SUPPLIES FOR US THE MOST ESCELLENT SACRIFICE! The Body that God had prepared for Jesus was the human body He inhabited after His birth in Bethlehem. In that Body Jesus can make the kind of sacrifices that God did “desire” if sins were to be satisfactorily atoned.
