  3. Introduction • International Education Committee, made up of representatives from Faculties/Colleges plus student representatives, participates in the management of the programme at UCC

  4. UCC Partner Institutions • UCC has approximately 195 partner institutions under the ERASMUS programme across the European Union

  5. Incoming/Outgoing student flows • Approximately 450 students study at UCC under the ERASMUS programme • 173 UCC students expected to study abroad during the 2010/2011 academic year • 160 UCC students expected to participate in the work experience abroad during the 2010/2011 academic year

  6. Programmes incorporating a compulsory year abroad • BA in Language and Cultural Studies     • BA in Drama and Theatre Studies (International)     • BA in European Studies • BCL French/BCL German/BCL International • BComm (International) French/German/ Irish/Italian/Spanish

  7. Other subject areas • Architecture • Civil and Environmental Engineering • Mathematics • Occupational Therapy • Zoology, Ecology and Plant Science

  11. Sources of information for outgoing students • Information sessions for outgoing students are held on a regular basis during the academic year • Orientation for outgoing students held at the end of August

Increasing awareness of ERASMUS Programme • Production of information leaflet and folder • Production of individual partner University profiles • Production of banner for use at open days, secondary school guidance counsellors’ information days, etc. • Production of poster for distribution to all schools in Munster and academic departments at UCC. • Returning students are encouraged to participate in events which focus on international study opportunities.

Increasing awareness of ERASMUS Programme • Since 2007/2008 the International Education Office organises a photographic competition for students abroad • Criteria: To portray some aspect of their study abroad experience • Received hundreds of photographs • Photographs are presented in a calendar which are distributed to schools in the province of Munster and academic departments at UCC
