Early Life • Born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 14, 1913 • His parents were Leslie Lynch, and Dorothy Gardener King • He had 3 brothers, Thomas, Richard, and James • He Graduated from High School in 1931 from Grand Rapids South High School • He was a star Football Player • His parents divorced soon after his birth

  3. Life Before he was President • His collage was University of Michigan in Ann Arbor • He coached football and Boxing • He was in the World War Two and in U.S. Navy • He had 4 Children

  4. Being President • He was the 38th President • His vice president was Nelson A. Rockefeller • Gerald Ford was a Republican • In April 1975 Gerald ordered the last US out of Vietnam • He ran against Jimmy Carter and he lost against him • In September 197, he faced 2 assassination

Later Years • He left the White House on January, 1977 • He remained highly respected • Ronald Reagan asked Gerald to me his running mate, but Gerald said “No” • In 1981 a library called, Ford’s Library opened in Ann Arbor, Michigan • In 1999 he received the President medal of freedom • He died in Rancho Mirage, on December 26, 2006
