Land in the Netherlands • The land in the the Netherlands is flat. • It is mostly made of clay. • The clay is mostly good for farming. • Only a few hills exist in the Netherlands. • That is because the Netherlands is lowlands. • Nether means low. So mix it together and it becomes lowlands.
Lowlands • The Netherlands has no mountains because it is way below sea level! • The land has many floods. • The Dutch were very frightened because they thought they were done forever! • The Netherlands are now wet for that reason.
Tulips in the Netherlands • The Netherlands are rich in tulips. • It’s like being stuck in a million tulips! • The tulips come in all kinds of colors.
The Climate in the Netherlands • The climate is mostly cool. • A good place for me to rest • Hey! If you like cool seasons, the Netherlands is the place for you! • It mostly stays cool much of the year. • It also rains a lot. • If you like the rain, the Netherlands is the place for you!
Clog Shoes in the Netherlands • Clog shoes are wooden shoes that are worn in the Netherlands. • They are worn because just like I said, the land is wet. • If they wore shoes that we wear, their shoes would turn wet, and they would be drying their shoes all day long!
Transportation • There are bikes in the Netherlands. • The Dutch people mostly ride bikes. • There are a few cars in the Netherlands. • As well, there are also motorcycles in the Netherlands.
Windmills • Windmills are machines that dry the land in the Netherlands. • This is how a windmill dries the land in the Netherlands: 1.The wind pushes the blades. 2.The windmill pushes the water into it. 3.Then the windmill pushes the water into the canals and the canals and the canals push the water into the sea.
