JISC Plagiarism Detection Service • Is a complete service which we must use as is or not at all • The University has signed a legally binding agreement to the terms and conditions of the service • Staff who want to use the system must sign ‘Document D’' to authorise iParadigms to hold personal data, which are linked to work submitted by your students • Students automatically give permission for use of this system when they register for their course. JISC Plagiarism Detection Service • Documentation University, staff and students have to sign has been cleared with University of Leeds Legal Adviser • We have, independently of JISC and HEFCE secured written confirmation from iParadigms that they will abide by EU data protection legislation • If you are contacted by someone from another institution in response to the system having spotted similarities between work submitted at the two institutions, you must not give any personal information whatsoever about the student at the University of Leeds.
