  2. Series Point: If you want what normal people have, do what normal people do. But if you want what fewpeople have, do what fewpeople do.

  3. Sermon Point: SEEK GODAND YOUR DESIRES WILL CHANGE.

  4. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. 1 John 2:16-17 NLT

  5. NORMAL PEOPLE: • WANT WHAT THEY WANT NOW, NOT LATER.

  6. NORMAL PEOPLE: • TRADE THE ULTIMATE FOR THE • IMMEDIATE.

  7. Genesis 25:29-34 NIV  29 Once when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the open country, famished. He said to Jacob, “Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I’m famished!” (That is why he was also called Edom. Jacob replied, “First sell me your birthright. “Look, I am about to die,” Esau said. “What good is the birthright to me?” 

  8. 33 But Jacob said, “Swear to me first.” So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright.

  10. WEIRD PEOPLE: • KNOW LATER IS OFTEN BETTER • THAN NOW.

  11. Proverbs 16:32 Better to be patient than powerful. Better to have self control than to conquer a city.

  12. WEIRD PEOPLE: • ARE WILLING TO GIVE UP SOMETHING • THEY WANTFOR SOMETHING THEY • WANT EVEN MORE.

  13. WEIRD PEOPLE: • SEEK GOD UNTIL HISDESIRES BECOME • THEIR DESIRES.

  14. Psalm 37:4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

  15. So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. Galatians 5:16-17 NLT
