Industry Promotion • Includes: • The need for a “Grow Boating” style national program • Shows – costs, formats, effectiveness • New media channels like social media • Getting potential customers to experience boating • Schools programs for kids • Increasing the profile and appeal of boating in the community • Selling the industry brand

  6. Government Interference • Includes: • Over regulation • Costs • Red tape • Slow decision making • Lack of support • Etc., etc., etc.

  7. Standards, Licensing • Includes: • Barriers to entry • Dealer standards • Vessel build standards • Emissions

  8. Access and Marine Parks • Includes: • Marine parks and bioregional planning • Fisheries issues • Infrastructure • Limitations on marine developments e.g. marinas • Green politics
