  4. WHY WAIT ? FOR RUNNING ABC? ARE YOU ONE OF THOSE AWOs WAITING FOR RESOURCES/ INFRASTRUCTURE TO RUN ABC!!!!!!

  5. Its EASY Only SIX Steps

  6. FIRST STEP • Find Available Resources/ Infrastructure with City Municipal Corporation/ County

  7. FIRST STEP • Most of the MCs/ County’s have Dog Catchers and a Vehicle (Man run Rickshaw or Petrol/ Diesel Vehicle)

  10. FIRST STEP • Funds are available for ABC ? ? • If the answer is YES go to FOURTH STEP

  11. SECOND STEP • Ask the Government to Save the money received from pet license in the city for the ABC work.

  12. THE ACT • In most of the countries there is a law that All Pet Owners should have the License to keep the pet.

  13. THIRD STEP • Engage volunteers to visit door to door for issuing licenses. • Setup booths in public areas to make the people aware/ highlight in the media

  14. Offer low cost Anti Rabies Vaccine and Spay/ Neuter to encourage people to go for license .

  16. FOURTH STEP • Approach the city veterinary college or the city veterinary association • Ask for TWO HOURS early morning time from two to three doctors.

  17. FIFTH STEP • Sign an agreement with the Municipal Corporation/ County • Get the dog catchers and the vehicle available with the municipal corporation / County

  18. SIXTH STEP • Request the community to provide a place with electricity, water and hygienic surroundings.

  19. Part Time Veterinary Doctors Morning 6 or 7 am to 8 or 9 am for 6-7 dogs a day

  29. ABC IS POSSIBLE • One needs to give only a few hours of time - gradually you start getting support from various funding agencies for everything that needs improvement

  30. ABC – A B C • Before you take up the program please spend two to four weeks time at any of the Shelter to learn the ABC’s of ABC • MC dog catchers catch the dogs and helps in assisting the Vets

  31. ABC – A B C • Provide training to the MC staff in dog catching as well as compounding. • Many organisations will come forward to help you with the training
