Classroom Procedures and Policies for Student Success

  1. Class Room Procedures Coach Pulattie

  2. Grades • Late Work will not be accepted after the grading period finishes • ie- anything from before the 3 weeks is due at the 3 week period • ie- anything from the 2nd half of the 6 weeks is due at the end of the 6 weeks • No Names- If you don’t put your name on it and I can’t figure out whose it is, I throw it away • Think its not fair? Its your responsibility to put your name on things

  3. Headphones • You can only have your headphones in if I explicitly say you can have your headphones in • Even if you have no music playing, you are not allowed to have headphones in your ears • No headphones in during bellwork, while I am talking, while you are working on anything • ONLY when I say you can listen to music

  4. iPads • No games unless you have finished ALL of your work and you ASK FIRST • If you are playing games and you haven’t asked and got permission from me I will take it up • You have one “warning” when I take up your ipad • ie- If it happens once you get it back at the end of class, if it happens again you get a D-Hall

  5. D-Halls • Detention will be before school from 8:00-8:30 • If you get a Detention I will send home a slip telling your parents when your detention is and why you received it • 3 Detentions = Referral • Skipped Detention = 2nd D-Hall • D-Halls will be 30 minutes of copying a packet about proper behavior

  6. D-Hall • Ways to get a Detention • Sleeping in class • Talking back/ being disrespectful • Games on iPad without permission • Headphones without permission • Talking at the wrong time • Asking to go to the bathroom and wandering halls • Cussing

  7. Work • Doing your work during class is NOT OPTIONAL • If you do not do you work you will receive a detention for refusing to do your work • Doing the Bellwork is NOT OPTIONAL • Do what you are told to do during class or face the consequences which will escalate should you choose not to do what you are supposed to do

  8. Bathroom • 1 at a time • Take the hall pass • It doesn’t take 20 minutes to go to the bathroom • Walk directly to the bathroom on this hallway, do your business, and come straight back • Do not look in any other classrooms

  9. Talking • Do NOT talk while I am talking • Do NOT talk while a video is playing • Do NOT talk during tests • Do NOT talk during individual work time • (unless I have said you can work in partners) • When I say “Listen Up” stop talking IMMEDIATELY • Do NOT finish your last sentence • Talking during any of these times may get you a D-HALL

  10. Video Etiquette • When we watch videos do NOT talk • When we watch videos do NOT sleep • When we watch videos WATCH THE VIDEO • Its literally the easiest thing in the world, just watch the screen

  11. Tardies • The door will close and lock when the bell rings • If you are 2 feet outside the room, you get a tardy • If you are going to be late go get a pass and get here ASAP • If you are late, you are only getting in with a pass • If you come from another campus and you are always late you can talk to me and I may excuse you from getting a pass

  12. Look before you ask… • Your grades are ALL on skyward • Why am I failing? What do I have in your class? LOOK ON SKYWARD • How to Log In to Skyward is on the board • All the material for class like powerpoints, etc. is on my website • My website is on the board • Paper copies of work will be on the table or drawers by the door • What we are doing today is on the board under “Today”

  13. Skyward • Assignments posted to Skyward are to be done ON SKYWARD • Bring your iPad, phone, or whatever you need to in order to do your work • No more paper copies of skyward assignments • If you do not have an iPad or a phone talk to me outside of class and we’ll work something out • Failure to bring stuff to class to do your work gets a D-Hall • You get one warning, second time is a D-Hall • Be responsible to bring your stuff to class
