  8. Develop a Design Proposal Create a timeline and history of Clocks • Change in Clocks Throughout History • A clock is an instrument used to indicate, keep, and co-ordinate time • “Clock" refers to any device for measuring and displaying the time.

Develop a Design Proposal • Early Clocks • Sun Dials – Used the movement of the sun to move the shadow across the face of the clock • Water Clocks - Water clocks were among the earliest timekeepers that did not depend on the observation of celestial bodies • Sand Clocks - An hourglass (sandglass, sand timer, sand clock) measures the passage of a few minutes or an hour of time

When they were first invented, windup clocks were the most advanced machines of the time.
