Alaska VHF-Up Group Highlights from the 2011 PNWVHFS Conference in Bend, Oregon
The Alaska VHF-Up Group held its annual meeting on October 8, 2011, during the Pacific Northwest VHF Society Conference in Bend, Oregon. With 59 members, including 23 from Alaska, the group discussed key developments such as updating their website, creating an email reflector, and introducing certificates for the Sourdough and Pathfinder awards. Recognizing excellence in amateur radio, awards were presented to members activating multiple grids throughout Alaska. The meeting served as an opportunity to strengthen ties in the VHF community and enhance collaboration.

Alaska VHF-Up Group • Est. April, 2005 • 59 members: 23-Alaskan, 36-Non Alaskan. • ARRL Affiliation secured in August, 2007. • Meetings: Board Meetings held via e-mail. Alaska: Annual Meeting coincides with a Hamfest in Alaska. Outside Meeting to be held during Pacific NW VHF Conference. • Old Business: none • New Business: 1. Website moved to http://www.qsl.net/ak-vhf/ with addition of the Contesting page authored by Paul, K7CW. 2. Creation of a e-mail reflector: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/ak-vhf 3. Creation of certificates for the Sourdough and Pathfinder awards. First six awards given out:
