  1. Kherson Regional Lyceum

  2. History of Lyceum The year of birth of Kherson Regional Lyceum for capable and gifted pupils from the rural locality is considered 1992. Although the first lyceum forms were opened in 1990, yet on thebase of a boarding-school through lyceum of agricultural and pedagogical profiles.In 1961 it became a boarding school for orphans. In 1992 Kherson Regional Lyceum was established there by the order of the representative of the President of Ukraine in Kherson region.

  3. Kherson Regional Lyceum is one of the first Lyceums for gifted rural children in Ukraine. It is a boarding school of 540 students aged 14-17 from 18 districts of Kherson Region. A wide diversity of ethnic groups is represented here: Ukrainians, Russians, Byelorussians, Armenians, Greeks, Koreans, Georgians, Poles, Bulgarians and Moldavians.

  4. Now, three forms of preparing pre-profile training and 14 forms of the senior school function in Lyceum in such spheres as Physics and Mathematics Chemistry and Biology History and Philology Foreign Philology Technology. Main Profiles

  5. Exams At the end of 9 and 11 forms students pass such exams as: 9th Form: • Mathematics • Biology • Geography • Ukrainian Language 11th Form: • History of Ukraine • English • Ukrainian language • Mathematics • Biology

  6. The high-professional pedagogical staff comprising 52 teachers, 20 educators, a practicing psychologist, a social mentor and a pedagogue-organizer realises the newest ideas.

  7. Material Base The proper materials base is created in an academic building with 25 studies (including three of information science, four rooms with interactive boards (physics, chemistry, biology and humanitarian subjects), mobile computer complex: a server, 16 notebook computers and two access points to Internet)

  8. Hostel There are two hostels in Lyceum, one for boys and one for girls. Also, there is canteen.

  9. Lyceum boasts of its Government garden, a dendrology park of eight hectares,which creates a unique microclimate on Lyceum territory. It was planted in 1873 by the Order of Empress Catherine the Great.

  15. Summer School Annually Kherson Regional Lyceum sends the best students for restto Summer school for three weeks.

  16. The Dnipro River. XXI Century Students participate in all-Ukrainian ecological expedition ‘The Dnipro River. XXI Century’ which is held every august. They test water quality, define its hydro- biological characteristics and research river fauna and flora.

  17. Final Prom Each year Lyceum graduates students who demonstrate excellent results and easily enter best higher educational establishments in Ukraine.

  18. Lyceum has already got numerous achievements, in particularly, the first place among regional educational establishments according to the general rating of subject olympiad results in 2010/2011 academic year.
