  3. Opportunities . . . • Develop alternative energy sources • Protect the environment by reducing the use of toxic materials • Design and develop innovative devices to diagnose and treat human ailments • Aid in the development of even more sophisticated semiconductor chips

  4. Opportunities . . . • Develop advanced techniques for purifying, sterilizing, and modifying the ingredients in the foods we eat • Develop high performance materials such as specialized plastics and nanomaterials

  7. Goal • Design a car that is powered by a chemical reaction. • The car will be constructed by using K’nex kits. • We will test the cars to see which travels the farthest!!!
