  2. Requirements October schedule update

  3. Consideration • Radiation protection (Stefan Roseler) • Scrubbing typically means losses and additional activation which is inconvenient prior to a Technical Stop- consider the impact on activation and the Technical Stop • Note: losses will be mainly at 450 GeV • Gap between MD4 and scrubbing (Giulia Papotti) • Some time in between the two blocks would allow proper result analysis and re-prioritization if required • Recovery after MD3 was almost transparent (had only 1 problem possibly related to the MD block), so impact on physics operation is minimal. • The same machine experts would be working for the 4-day MD block, the scrubbing run, the 25ns MDs... This does not go in the direction of having efficient nor alert experts. • Contingency • 25 ns regarded as high priority (see last week’s LMC), some breathing space required in case of poor availability… October schedule update

  4. Proposed timetable October schedule update

  5. On the schedule October schedule update

  7. Also on the list • Proton-lead: • multi-bunch ramp test • squeeze commissioning • LHCb: aperture at 450 GeV • TOTEM: in physics with TCLAs out • EOF: transverse profile – scraping with collimators • EOF: bunch flattening • Shorter bunches at injection with adiabatic voltage increase after filling (to LMC) • Fill(s) with shorter bunch length (impedance, heating…). Strategy to be defined. Ideally down to 1 ns. (to LMC) October schedule update
