  1. A Water Molecule’s Journey In A Plant Maha Al Kaabi 8E

  2. A water molecule starts of at the very base of the plant, where it diffuses into the root cap.

  3. From the root it travels to the xylem vessels of the stem. The xylem and phloem are arranged in bundles near the edge of the stem to resist compression and bending forces. xylem and phloem are in the centre of the root to withstand stretching forces.

  4. The water molecule then travels upward into the leaves where it enters the veins.

  5. Photosynthesis Equation Carbon dioxide + Water + Light energy = Glucose + Oxygen

  6. The Chloroplast in the leaf cell then carry Thylakoid, which gathers Photons from the light to the water molecule.

  7. The molecule then combines with photon and carbon dioxide and become one. Which is called Glucose.

  8. Now it separates from the chloroplast, and travels down the phloem and spreads into the rest of the plant. That’s what a water molecule’s journey into a plant is like.

  9. Photosynthesis is a process vital to the environment without it there would be no producers, therefore all animals will be extinct and so will we. AOI: Environment
