  2. 16 • Civil principality: when a leading citizen becomes the prince of his country because he got voted in by the people. • In order to attain leadership a person needs happy shrewdness.

  3. 18 • Nobles will see the prince as an equal if they help him get to power thus making it hard for the prince to rule over the nobles. • If the prince is created by the people then it is easier for him to rule because the people do not see him as a equal and will be more submissive.

  4. Types of nobles • The good, the bad, and the neutral. • The good are the ones that will work with you and they should be praised • The bad are the ones that will try to undermine you should be ruined • Then neutral will neither harm or help you so there is no need to bother will them. 19
